Why not just shoot the mine to set it off? The mine I'm assuming makes a loud noise the same a gun shot would. Would a gun shot not work? (Just curious I have no knowledge or experience with anything war related)

In the IDF the more senior officers usually take point, even up to a brigade commander.

Vietnam another useless “ war” that got thousands of Americans killed so some “ elite” could line their pockets. My youngest brother was there and my nephew. What exactly was accomplished beside death and destruction then millions of Vietnamese brought to this country and given everything free while our returning soldiers got nothing.

Some men back then were all about chaos and wanting to kill, that anxiousness for blood is what got all the commanders fucked...bloodlust is the true enemy here

That man he calls a "kid" chose to fight. Our children are still blowing up in 2024 from U S. mines. You left them all behind when you left. Laos was not in the war but America still illegally layered the ground here with millions of tons of explosives. Imagine cluster bombs dropped on America by a foreign power to stop Mexicans in the U.S. illegally... Cluster bombs are still the most common child killer here in 2024 The steel ball bearings usually take arms or legs, but children are so small, the shock kills them. If it doesn't their parents get to watch them die from blood loss... Reserve your sympathy for the innocents born half a century after your failed attempt to control the world. Never forget. You got beaten by Vietnamese rice-farmers with small arms.

I enlisted in 1963 till 1969, never made it to Nam. Lived in Colo. till 2014 and moved to Iowa where even to this day people in Iowa thank me for my service. When i got off the bus after being discharged had bleach thrown on my uniform among other things, cops just stood by watching.

I regret to inform everyone that Donald Trump had an unfortunately bone spur issue so he was unable to fight for his country.. it was totally bone spurs. It absolutely was not because his dad was a billionaire. Oh and he also said the men that were captured and tortured horrifically are losers.. sooo, yeah, that's the go to guy for allot of Americans... pretty crazy stuff

@batherrofmoistureaposto1785 I do, yes. It's all a rigged game anyway, but I check the boxes every election. I'm more concerned with local issues that we may actually have control over. School board. Sherriffs. D.A. that kind of stuff. I don't think the presidency is that important really.

My Dad arrived in Vietnam that March of '68 and was assigned to B Co 3rd Bn 47th Infantry 9th Infantry division. His first day out in the field went like this: Because he held the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6 (Junior NCO), with NO combat experience, he was immediately placed in charge of a platoon because the platoon leader was shot through the head by a sniper. He said NEVER felt so SCARED in his life!!.....He SURVIVED his 12 month tour of duty.
